AMZNX Trading Hours 24/7 vs Nasdaq: When Each Market Is Open

BloFin Academy09/28/2026

A share traded on a stock exchange can only change hands while that exchange is open, and for most of the week it is shut. Crypto markets never close, so when a share is carried onto a crypto exchange as a token, the question of when you can trade it has more than one answer.

For Amazon, there are three schedules to know. Nasdaq, where Amazon's shares are listed, keeps one. Tokenized Amazon, traded on BloFin through the AMZNX/USDT Spot pair, keeps another.

The AMZNUSDT Perpetual, a contract that follows Amazon's price with leverage, keeps a third. All three are fully open together for six and a half hours on a US weekday, and they differ the rest of the time.

What are AMZNX trading hours?

AMZNX trading hours are the times the AMZNX/USDT pair accepts orders. BloFin's written risk disclosure describes xStocks markets as open 24 hours a day on weekdays only. Its own price record shows AMZNX trading in every hour of recent weekends and of a US holiday. Nasdaq's regular session runs 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern time.

The two sources describe the same pair differently, and each is dated. The disclosure is BloFin's standing description of the markets for xStocks, the family of tokenized shares AMZNX belongs to (source: BloFin xStocks risk disclosure). The record is what the pair did on particular days in September 2026, as BloFin's hourly prices show.

The perpetual follows a separate rule. It quotes a price at every hour, but outside the US weekday session, at weekends and on US market holidays, BloFin may limit stock futures trading to reduce-only orders, which can only close or shrink a position (source: BloFin stock futures trading update).

Say you want to buy Amazon exposure on a Saturday afternoon. Nasdaq is closed, so no shares change hands there until Monday, while AMZNX/USDT has traded at that hour on every recent weekend. The price you pay for AMZNX that afternoon is set by other BloFin traders, and Nasdaq's Monday open can move it either way. If you want leverage instead, the perpetual may accept only orders that reduce a position until Monday's session opens at 13:30 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) in daylight saving time. A new perpetual position may therefore have to wait while a token purchase goes through. AMZNUSDT offers leverage from 1x to 20x (source: BloFin AMZNUSDT contract details).

Nasdaq's hours for Amazon stock

Amazon's shares trade on Nasdaq, which runs three sessions each weekday. The regular session runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern time. Pre-market trading runs from 4:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., and after-hours trading from 4:00 in the afternoon to 8:00 in the evening (source: Nasdaq Global Trading Hours FAQ).

Pre-market and after-hours trading are thinner than the regular session. Nasdaq warns that in those sessions volatility tends to be much higher and liquidity lower, so prices can move more on fewer trades (source: Nasdaq trading hours). Nasdaq is closed at weekends and on US market holidays, and trading anywhere at those times tends to come with lower liquidity and wider spreads (source: Investopedia).

Because US time changes twice a year, the same Eastern times fall at different hours in UTC. US daylight saving time runs from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November, and standard time covers the rest of the year (source: BloFin stock futures trading update).

In 2026 the switch to standard time comes on November 1, a Sunday. From the next morning, every Nasdaq session starts and ends an hour later in UTC, and so do BloFin's regular hours for the perpetual. Say you check Amazon's price at 14:00 UTC. In October that is half an hour into the regular session; in November it is half an hour before the open.

AMZNX weekend trading and BloFin's 24/5 schedule

BloFin's xStocks risk disclosure, dated August 20, 2025, says xStocks token markets "only operate 24 hours a day, 5 days a week (weekdays only)" (source: BloFin xStocks risk disclosure). On that reading, AMZNX/USDT is open around the clock from Monday to Friday and closed at the weekend.

BloFin's own hourly prices show more than that. The pair traded in every one of the 54 hours from 20:00 UTC on Friday, September 25, 2026 to 02:00 UTC on Monday, September 28, and in every one of the 66 hours of the weekend before. It also traded in every one of the 90 hours from 20:00 UTC on Friday, September 4 to 14:00 UTC on Tuesday, September 8. That window took in Labor Day, September 7, when US markets were closed all day (source: BloFin stock futures trading update).

A record of past weekends does not promise the next one, and the disclosure is the rule BloFin has written down. So treat weekend trading in AMZNX as something that has happened, and check the pair before relying on it. The token's price at a weekend comes from trading on BloFin alone, because Nasdaq is shut, and it is not tied to any share trade until Monday.

Say you place a limit order to buy AMZNX at 250 USDT on a Saturday. If sellers at that price are on BloFin, the order can fill on Saturday. If none are, it waits in the order book like any other limit order, and the price on Monday may be some distance from where it stood on Friday.

AMZNUSDT Perpetual trading hours and reduce-only orders

BloFin's regular hours for stock futures follow Nasdaq's regular session: 13:30 to 20:00 UTC in daylight saving time and 14:30 to 21:00 UTC in standard time (source: BloFin stock futures trading update). Outside those hours on weekdays, at weekends and on public holidays when US markets are closed, trading may be limited to reduce-only orders.

The contract still has a price at those times, and trades still print. AMZNUSDT traded on BloFin in every hour of the same three weekends as AMZNX, and over the Labor Day weekend it traded between 255.36 and 260.42 USDT. What changes outside the window is which orders BloFin may accept: closing a position stays possible, while opening one may have to wait.

The same notice lists the 2026 US market holidays and early closes (source: BloFin stock futures trading update). An open position keeps moving in those hours and can still be liquidated, so the guide to trading Amazon with leverage puts the stop on the order that opens the position. BloFin's guide to position sizing shows how large to make a position in any market.

Say you hold a long AMZNUSDT position on a Friday evening and want to add to it. After 20:00 UTC, BloFin may refuse the order until the Monday session opens at 13:30 UTC. If you want to reduce the position instead, that order can still go through. The same applies on a US holiday such as Thanksgiving, when the window does not open at all. BloFin's guide to leverage and liquidation explains how a fast move can carry the price past a stop.

AMZNX, AMZNUSDT and Nasdaq hours side by side

The three markets are all fully open only in Nasdaq's regular session. Outside it, AMZNX/USDT kept trading on BloFin, in every hour from September 1 to 27, 2026. The perpetual may accept only closing orders (source: BloFin stock futures trading update). Nasdaq is then in an extended session or closed (source: SEC Release No. 34-105199).

In standard time, each of those UTC boundaries moves one hour later. AMZNX's written schedule is weekdays only (source: BloFin xStocks risk disclosure). Nasdaq's pre-market and after-hours sessions fall outside the perpetual's regular window, so at 08:00 or 22:00 UTC in daylight saving time Amazon's shares can trade on Nasdaq while the perpetual may accept only closing orders.

Say you live in Singapore, eight hours ahead of UTC. In daylight saving time, Nasdaq's regular session runs from 21:30 to 04:00 your time, so the hours when all three markets are fully open fall overnight for you. Your working day falls in the window when AMZNX keeps trading and the perpetual may accept only closing orders. In standard time the session moves an hour later, to 22:30 to 05:00 in Singapore.

How much trades outside US hours

Trading at a given hour is not the same as trading much. Over the three weeks from September 7 to September 27, 2026, AMZNX/USDT traded on BloFin about 384 tokens an hour during Nasdaq's regular session, 225 an hour on weekdays outside the session and 138 an hour at weekends.

In the 24 UTC hours of Labor Day, September 7, it traded about 49 tokens an hour, about an eighth of a regular-session hour. The perpetual showed the same pattern more strongly, with its hourly volume at weekends less than a tenth of its regular-session level.

Thinner trading usually means a wider gap between the best buy and sell prices, so a larger order moves the price more. Say you want to sell 200 AMZNX on a Sunday. That is more than an average weekend hour's volume, so you may fill across several prices, or wait for buyers.

The weekend price range is narrower too, while Nasdaq is shut. When it reopens on Monday, the share can open well away from Friday's close. Much of what moves the share at that open, from Amazon Web Services (AWS) news to interest rates, is among the forces that move Amazon's stock price.

A thin hour offers fewer tokens at each price, while the spot fee on AMZNX/USDT for your account tier stays the same in every hour; the rates are in the BloFin fee schedule.

US holidays and early closes left in 2026

Four dates remain in 2026 when Nasdaq is closed or closes early, and BloFin's notice lists the same four for its stock futures. All of them fall in US standard time, so BloFin's regular hours on the normal days around them run from 14:30 to 21:00 UTC (source: BloFin stock futures trading update) (source: Nasdaq trading hours).

An early close at 1:00 p.m. Eastern is 18:00 UTC in standard time, so the two calendars agree on those days. On a closed day, the perpetual may be limited to reduce-only orders for the whole day, and Thanksgiving and Christmas each join a weekend or an early close to make a long break.

For AMZNX, the question is whether the pair trades on those days. AMZNX/USDT traded in every hour of Labor Day, the one US market holiday since the end of July 2026. Check the pair on the day before relying on it for Thanksgiving or Christmas.

Say you plan to close an AMZNUSDT position on Friday, November 27. The early close means BloFin's regular window ends at 18:00 UTC on November 27, three hours earlier than usual, and the next full session is Monday, November 30, at 14:30 UTC. Thanksgiving itself has no session at all.

Nasdaq's 23-hour trading day from December 2026

Nasdaq plans to add a night session from 9:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. Eastern time, for a 23-hour weekday with a one-hour pause from 8:00 to 9:00 in the evening (source: Nasdaq Global Trading Hours FAQ). The change is expected on Sunday, December 6, 2026, pending the readiness of the consolidated US price feed.

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approved Nasdaq's rule change on April 10, 2026 (source: SEC Release No. 34-105199). Under the approved rules, the trading week opens with the night session at 9:00 p.m. Eastern on Sunday and ends with the day session on Friday. The day session keeps today's pre-market, regular and after-hours periods, from 4:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Nasdaq's data notice of September 24 set out the steps before launch. The night session's data connections were due to start sending a heartbeat, a regular signal that shows a connection is working, on Sunday night, September 27 (source: Nasdaq Data News #2026-8). A test phase using test symbols in place of real stocks is due to run overnight from November 1 (source: Nasdaq Data News #2026-8).

Nasdaq says its current sessions would not change in substance (source: Nasdaq Global Trading Hours FAQ). BloFin's notice, dated April 21, 2026, sets the perpetual's regular window to the US regular session (source: BloFin stock futures trading update).

Say you read Amazon news at 03:00 UTC on a Tuesday in December. Today Nasdaq is closed at that hour. After the change, Amazon's shares could trade on Nasdaq at that hour, in the night session, and the token would be trading beside the listed share again.

What the hours mean for an AMZNX holder

An AMZNX holder can trade on BloFin at times when Nasdaq is shut, but prices at those times come from fewer trades. BloFin's written schedule says weekdays only, while the pair traded through every weekend in September 2026 and through Labor Day. Check the pair on the day, and expect thinner trading outside the US session.

Say you hold 10 AMZNX, worth about 2,500 USDT at 250 USDT a token. Selling them on a weekday during Nasdaq's session means selling in the busiest hours of the day. Selling the same 10 on a Sunday has been possible on recent weekends, but into about a third of the volume. The same holds for a purchase: an order placed at a weekend meets fewer sellers, and a limit order sets the worst price you will accept while you wait. At a weekend, check the order book before you sell, because fewer buyers are waiting at each price.

Whether a token that trades while its share is shut is right for you also depends on how it is held and backed, which the guide to whether tokenized Amazon is safe sets out. AMZNX and the AMZNUSDT Perpetual give you two different routes to Amazon on BloFin. The choice between AMZNX and the AMZN perpetual turns on leverage, funding and liquidation, and the hours are one more part of it.

Frequently asked questions

Can you trade Amazon stock on weekends?

Amazon's shares have no Nasdaq session on a Saturday or a Sunday. Today Nasdaq's trading week ends at 8:00 p.m. Eastern on Friday and restarts at 4:00 a.m. on Monday, 56 hours later (source: SEC Release No. 34-105199). From December 6, 2026, Nasdaq plans to restart at 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, which cuts the break to 49 hours, from 01:00 UTC on Saturday to 02:00 UTC on Monday in US standard time (source: Nasdaq Global Trading Hours FAQ). On BloFin, AMZNX/USDT traded in every weekend hour in September 2026.

Will Amazon stock trade on US market holidays once Nasdaq runs 23 hours?

Amazon's shares would trade on a US market holiday only from 9:00 p.m. Eastern that evening, when the night session opens, if the holiday falls from Monday to Thursday (source: Nasdaq Global Trading Hours FAQ). Under the rules the SEC approved, the holiday closure starts at 8:00 p.m. the evening before. When the holiday is a Friday, trading restarts at 9:00 p.m. on Sunday (source: SEC Release No. 34-105199). Christmas Day 2026 is a Friday, so the first session after it would open at 9:00 p.m. Eastern on Sunday, December 27.

Can you buy Amazon stock with a market order in Nasdaq's night session?

Market orders are among the order types Nasdaq will not accept from 9:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. Eastern (source: Nasdaq Global Trading Hours FAQ). A buy order in that session would carry a limit price, which sets the most you are willing to pay. Any order entered then and still open at 4:00 a.m. will be canceled, so you would have to enter it again for the day session that follows (source: Nasdaq Global Trading Hours FAQ).

When will Amazon stock start trading 23 hours a day?

Nasdaq expects its first night session to open at 9:00 p.m. Eastern on Sunday, December 6, 2026, which is 02:00 UTC on Monday, December 7. The start depends on the consolidated US price feed being ready and on any SEC rule changes it needs (source: Nasdaq Global Trading Hours FAQ). Trades made between 9:00 p.m. and midnight Eastern are reported with the next calendar day's trade date, so that first evening's trades would carry Monday's date (source: Nasdaq Global Trading Hours FAQ).

How often is AMZNUSDT funding settled over a weekend?

Funding on the AMZNUSDT Perpetual settles every eight hours, weekends included, at 00:00, 08:00 and 16:00 UTC, which is every eight hours from midnight Hong Kong time (source: BloFin AMZNUSDT contract details). A position held from the Friday close at 20:00 UTC to the Monday open at 13:30 UTC passes eight settlements while BloFin may accept only orders that reduce it. On the weekend of September 26 and 27, 2026, the rate was 0.0432% at 00:00 UTC on Saturday and 0.0120% at each of the next six (source: BloFin AMZNUSDT funding history).

Nothing in this article constitutes financial advice, and nothing in it is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold Amazon in any form. Outside Nasdaq's regular session AMZNX trades more thinly, and at weekends and on holidays far more thinly, so a sale at a weekend or on a holiday can fill at a worse price, and the written schedule does not promise weekend trading. When Nasdaq reopens, Amazon's share can open far from its last close, and the AMZNUSDT Perpetual may accept only closing orders until then. Past performance does not indicate future results. Do your own research and consider your risk tolerance before you trade on BloFin.
