BloFin VIP: Lower Fees, Better Perks, and How to Qualify

BloFin Academy07/03/2026

The more actively you trade, the more fees add up. At a certain level of volume or portfolio size, the difference between standard rates and discounted rates starts to matter in a meaningful way. BloFin's VIP program is built around that idea, rewarding traders who are already active on the platform with lower costs, exclusive access, and dedicated support.

This guide covers what BloFin VIP is, what each tier unlocks, every fee rate across all five tiers, and exactly how to qualify, including the fastest routes depending on how you trade.

What is BloFin VIP?

BloFin VIP is a tiered rewards program that gives active traders access to progressively lower trading fees and an expanding set of exclusive benefits. There are five VIP tiers above the regular account level, each unlocking better rates and more privileges than the last.

Qualification is based on your 30-day trading activity or your account balance, whichever puts you at the highest tier. You don't need to meet all three criteria; hitting any one of them is enough.

One common misconception about VIP programs is that they require a formal application. BloFin's doesn't work that way. If you meet the criteria, you're automatically upgraded at the next daily assessment. No application, no approval process, no waiting.

The five VIP tiers

Tiers are assessed daily at 12:00 UTC based on a rolling 30-day window. Your tier updates automatically as your qualifying metrics change. Sub-accounts sync with the main account, so activity across linked accounts counts together.

VIP 5

≥ 8,000,000 (Non-API Trading ≥ 6,400,000)

≥ 3,000,000

It is important to note that at VIP 4 and VIP 5, separate thresholds apply for non-API trading. If you trade manually rather than through automated systems, the lower non-API threshold is what counts.

The asset path is the most accessible route for many traders. VIP 1 requires just $50,000 in assets held on BloFin, which is a much lower bar than generating $10,000,000 in futures volume.

What VIP status unlocks

Every tier above Regular comes with a combination of fee reductions and exclusive privileges. As you move up, both deepen.

Lower trading fees

Lower trading fees are the headline benefit and the reductions compound significantly at higher trading volumes. BloFin charges separate rates for futures and spot trading, and within futures, different rates for maker and taker orders. Maker orders are limit orders that rest on the book and add liquidity. On the other hand, taker orders fill immediately against existing orders and remove liquidity. Makers pay less because they contribute to market depth.

At VIP 5, the futures maker fee drops to zero. Every limit order you place that rests on the book costs nothing on entry. The taker fee also falls from 0.0600% to 0.0350%, a reduction of over 40% from the standard rate.

Spot fees are flat at the Regular tier (same rate for maker and taker), but from VIP 1 onward, a maker/taker spread opens up. The jump from Regular to VIP 1 is the single largest fee drop in the table. Spot maker fees fall from 0.1000% to 0.0350% immediately upon reaching VIP 1.

Additional VIP benefits

  • Exclusive support gives VIP members dedicated, priority assistance. For high-volume traders where a delayed response during a fast-moving market has a real cost, direct access matters.

  • BloFin Card is available exclusively to VIP members, an offer that regular accounts don't have access to.

  • VIP Gifts are given as recognition for your trading loyalty.

  • VIP Events offer access to exclusive gatherings with insights from top industry experts, available only to qualifying VIP tiers.

  • Exclusive Products give VIP members early or exclusive access to new, customized offerings before they're available broadly.

  • Higher Interest Rates on BloFin Earn mean your idle assets generate more yield if you're subscribed to Earn products.

  • Market Insights Reports provide in-depth industry analysis distributed directly to eligible VIP members.

What the savings look like in real numbers

Fee rates in basis points can be hard to contextualize. Here's what the differences mean across different monthly trading volumes on futures taker fees.

At $1,000,000 monthly futures volume:

  • Regular (0.0600%): $600 per month / $7,200 per year

  • VIP 1 (0.0500%): $500 per month / $6,000 per year

  • VIP 3 (0.0425%): $425 per month / $5,100 per year

  • VIP 5 (0.0350%): $350 per month / $4,200 per year

At $10,000,000 monthly futures volume:

  • Regular (0.0600%): $6,000 per month / $72,000 per year

  • VIP 1 (0.0500%): $5,000 per month / $60,000 per year

  • VIP 3 (0.0425%): $4,250 per month / $51,000 per year

  • VIP 5 (0.0350%): $3,500 per month / $42,000 per year

The maker fee reduction compounds these savings further for traders who primarily use limit orders. A VIP 5 maker paying 0.0000% on a $10,000,000 monthly volume baseline saves $20,000 per month versus the Regular maker rate of 0.0200%.

How to qualify for BloFin VIP

BloFin assesses VIP tiers daily at 12:00 UTC. The system looks at three metrics from the previous 30 days and applies the highest tier you qualify for across any of them. You only need to meet one of the three criteria, not all three. If your futures volume qualifies you for VIP 2 but your assets only qualify for VIP 1, you get VIP 2. The highest qualifying path always wins.

The asset path

For many traders, the asset threshold is the most overlooked and most accessible route. VIP 1 requires just $50,000 in assets held on BloFin with no trading volume required. If you're already holding meaningful positions on the platform, you may already qualify without changing anything about how you trade.

The asset figure is based on a daily snapshot of your balance across your Funding Account and Trading Account. Futures Bonuses and Vouchers are excluded from the calculation.

A few things worth noting: if your balance fluctuates significantly intraday, what matters is the snapshot value at the time BloFin takes it. Keeping a stable balance rather than cycling funds in and out helps ensure you hit the threshold consistently.

The spot volume path

Spot volume thresholds are considerably lower than futures thresholds at each tier. VIP 1 requires $1,000,000 in 30-day spot volume versus $10,000,000 for futures. For traders who primarily trade spot, this is the natural path.

Only taker-side spot volume counts toward the threshold at VIP 4 and VIP 5 for non-API trading. For lower tiers, all spot trading volume contributes.

The futures volume path

For active futures traders, this path scales naturally with trading activity. The 30-day window is rolling, so consistent activity builds and maintains your tier without requiring a specific calendar period.

At VIP 4 and VIP 5, there are separate thresholds for non-API trading volume. If you primarily trade manually rather than through automated systems, the non-API threshold is what applies:

Tier

Standard futures threshold (USDT)

Non-API futures threshold (USDT)

VIP 4

≥ 200,000,000

≥ 160,000,000

VIP 5

≥ 500,000,000

≥ 400,000,000

The VIP+2 instant upgrade

If you're already a VIP member on another exchange, BloFin offers a direct upgrade path that skips the standard 30-day qualification window. Submit proof of your current VIP status and 30-day trading volume from your current exchange, and if approved, BloFin will instantly upgrade you two tiers.

This path is particularly useful for traders who are already generating the volume that would qualify them for a higher tier but haven't yet built that history on BloFin specifically.

How to apply for BloFin VIP+2 Upgrade

Step 1: Navigate to the BloFin VIP Program page and click Apply for VIP+2 Upgrade.

Step 2: Fill in your BloFin UID and Telegram handle.

Step 3: Upload a screenshot of your VIP status from another exchange, including proof of 30-day trading volume or assets. Screenshots must be in PNG, JPG, or JPEG format, maximum 2MB, up to 3 files.

Step 4: Click Submit and wait for review by your BloFin Relationship Manager. If approved, you'll be contacted directly.

Which path makes sense for you

You hold a significant balance on BloFin and don't need to change your trading behavior. Check whether your current asset balance already meets the threshold for your next tier. The asset path is passive. Your balance qualifies you automatically.

You're a regular spot trader. The spot volume thresholds are lower than futures thresholds at every tier, making this the natural path if spot is your primary market.

You trade futures actively. Volume accumulates across your rolling 30-day window. Consistent trading naturally builds toward the next tier without any special effort.

You're joining from another exchange with VIP status. The VIP+2 fast-track is worth applying for before you start trading. Getting your rate down from day one is more valuable than waiting 30 days to build a volume history.

What happens after you qualify

Once you meet the threshold for a tier, the upgrade applies at the next daily assessment at 12:00 UTC. From that point, your new maker and taker rates apply to all trades.

If your metrics drop below your current tier in a subsequent assessment, your tier adjusts downward accordingly. The system works in both directions. Tiers can go up or down based on your rolling 30-day activity.

Your current VIP level and progress toward the next tier are visible on the VIP page in your account. You can check your 30-day futures volume, spot volume, and asset balance against each tier's thresholds at any time.

Is pursuing VIP status worth it?

For active traders, the answer is almost always yes, and often they're already closer to qualifying than they realize.

The asset qualification path in particular is underused. A trader who already holds $50,000 in assets on BloFin qualifies for VIP 1 automatically, even without generating any specific trading volume.

For traders generating consistent volume, the higher tiers compound the benefit. VIP 5 futures maker fees reach 0.0000%, meaning you're placing limit orders with no entry fee at all.

Beyond the fees, the additional benefits (dedicated support, higher Earn rates, VIP events and reports) add up to a meaningfully different experience from a regular account. The program is built to reward traders who are already active, not to create additional hoops.

Frequently asked questions

What is BloFin VIP?

BloFin VIP is a tiered rewards program with five levels above the regular account. Each tier unlocks lower trading fees and additional exclusive benefits, based on 30-day trading volume or assets held on the platform.

How do I qualify for VIP status?

You qualify by meeting any one of three criteria within a rolling 30-day window: futures trading volume, spot trading volume, or assets held on BloFin. The easiest path for many users is the asset threshold. VIP 1 requires just $50,000 in assets. For a full qualification guide: How to Join the BloFin VIP Program

How often is my VIP tier updated?

Tiers are updated daily at 12:00 UTC based on your rolling 30-day metrics. If your qualifying volume or assets increase enough to move you up a tier, the new rate applies at the next daily update.

What is the VIP+2 upgrade?

If you already hold VIP status on another exchange, you can apply to skip two tiers instantly by submitting proof of your existing status. A BloFin Relationship Manager reviews your application and contacts you if approved.

Can sub-accounts contribute to my VIP qualification?

Yes. Sub-account activity is consolidated with the main account for tier assessment purposes.

What is the BloFin VIP fee rate at each tier?

Futures maker fees run from 0.0200% at Regular down to 0.0000% at VIP 5. Futures taker fees go from 0.0600% at Regular to 0.0350% at VIP 5. Spot fees run from 0.1000% flat at Regular down to 0.0100% maker and 0.0325% taker at VIP 5.

Does BloFin charge the same fee for spot and futures?

No. Spot and futures have separate fee structures. At Regular tier, spot charges 0.1000% flat on both sides. Futures charges 0.0200% maker and 0.0600% taker. The fee compression across VIP tiers is more dramatic on the futures side.

What is a maker order and why does it cost less?

A maker order is a limit order that sits on the order book and waits to be filled. It adds liquidity to the market. A taker order fills immediately against existing orders and removes liquidity. BloFin charges lower fees for maker orders because they contribute to market depth, and this discount becomes more significant at higher VIP tiers.

Does the 0.0000% futures maker fee at VIP 5 mean completely free to trade?

It means no maker fee on futures limit orders. Taker orders at VIP 5 still cost 0.0350%. There are also funding fees on perpetual futures positions, which are paid between traders and not set by BloFin. The 0.0000% rate applies specifically to the maker trading fee component.

How do I join the BloFin VIP Program?

There's no application for standard VIP status. You automatically qualify by meeting any one of three criteria: 30-day futures trading volume, 30-day spot trading volume, or assets held on BloFin. Tiers are assessed daily at 12:00 UTC.

How quickly will I move up a tier after qualifying?

Your tier updates at the next daily assessment at 12:00 UTC after your metrics meet the threshold. There's no delay beyond the daily cycle.

Do I keep my VIP tier if my volume drops?

Your tier is reassessed daily based on rolling 30-day metrics. If your volume or assets drop below your current tier's threshold, you'll be moved down at the next assessment. Keeping consistent activity or maintaining the asset balance is what keeps your tier stable.

Does trading volume from sub-accounts count?

Yes. Sub-account volume and assets consolidate with the main account for tier assessment purposes.

Can I qualify using a combination of paths?

Each path is assessed independently. You can't combine, for example, half the futures threshold and half the asset threshold. But if you meet any single path's full requirement, that's enough to qualify for that tier.
