Transactions on Optimism Risen nearly 50%, Average TPS Exceeding Arbitrum

Jul 27,2023,14:29

Optimism's on-chain transactions has increased by nearly 50%, with an average of more transactions per second than Arbitrum, setting a new historical record. This surge in activity is likely related to Worldcoin's launching on Optimism.

Currently, the number of independent addresses on Optimism has surpassed 7 million, and the Total Value Locked (TVL) has also seen a significant increase since Worldcoin's launch. In a recent interview with Bankless, Worldcoin expressed consideration for building an independent Layer 2 using the OP Stack in the future.

Worldcoin's plan aligns with Optimism's design of the "Superchain" concept, which promotes interoperability among multiple chains on the L2 platform, making it a "chain of platforms." Base, the Ethereum L2 built by Coinbase, is another project built on top of Optimism.
