WalletConnect Closed $11 Million Series A Funding Round with Coinbase Ventures and others

WalletConnect, a crypto wallet app, has closed an $11 million Series A round co-led by Union Square Ventures (USV) and 1kx, with participation from Coinbase Ventures, Semantic Ventures, Zerion and others. The funds raised will be used to scale wallet interoperability and develop a generalized messaging layer. WalletConnect is reportedly developing a direct messaging protocol and a push notification protocol.
