BloFin to Update Perpetual Contract Funding Rate Settlement Frequency

Dear BloFin users,
 
To create a fair and transparent trading environment and deliver a better overall user experience, BloFin Futures will officially introduce automated adjustments to the funding rate settlement frequency starting from 02:30 (UTC) on Dec 9, 2025.
 
Based on multiple indicators, including market volatility, funding rate trends, liquidity conditions, and broader market dynamics, the settlement frequency for perpetual contract funding rates will be adjusted dynamically.
 

Example:

Using the BTCUSDT perpetual contract as an example, assume the contract’s funding rate upper/lower limit is +0.3% / -0.3%, with a default settlement frequency of 8 hours.
 

Scenario 1:

If the BTCUSDT perpetual contract funding rate reaches -0.3% at 08:00:00 (UTC), the funding rate settlement frequency for the next cycle will be adjusted from 8 hours to 1 hour. The next funding fee settlement will occur at 09:00:00 (UTC).
 

Scenario 2:

Forward-Looking Automatic Adjustment Based on Market Trends

In certain market conditions, the system may perform proactive adjustments to ensure the stable operation of the funding rate mechanism. For example:
  • The market funding rate rapidly approaches the upper/lower limit
  • Liquidity or risk metrics indicate a potential approach toward trigger conditions
In these cases, the system may preemptively adjust the settlement frequency to a longer or shorter interval (e.g., 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours, or 8 hours). These adjustments aim to strengthen risk management and trading stability, and do not imply that the funding rate has actually reached the upper or lower limit during settlement.
 

Please Note:

  1. The platform will adopt an automatic recovery mechanism for the settlement frequency. When market conditions stabilize, risk indicators ease, or trend pressures subside, the system may automatically restore the settlement frequency from the current interval (e.g., 1 hour) back to 2 hours, 4 hours, or 8 hours. Such adjustments will not be announced separately.
  2. In certain market scenarios, the system may adjust the settlement frequency before the funding rate fully reaches the upper/lower limit to make funding rate settlements more stable and forward-looking. These adjustments will not be announced separately.
