Coinbase's Layer2 Network Base Will Open to Public on August 9

Base, the Layer2 network launched by Coinbase and built on OP Stack, will open to the public on August 9. Starting Thursday, users will be able to bridge their ETH to Base.

Additionally, Coinbase plans to launch “Onchain Summer,” a series of events in which creators and developers can make art or build applications on Base. Participating companies include beverage company Coca-Cola, gaming company Atari and NFT platform OpenSea.

In July, the Base mainnet was opened up to developers so they could test apps on the new network.
