Lightning Network Released Taproot Assets Protocol to Issue Assets on Bitcoin and Lightning

Lightning Labs has released an updated edition of the recently-rebranded Taproot Assets Protocol, which aims to provide a more efficient way to mint new assets on the Bitcoin blockchain.
The protocol is designed to operate off-chain to prevent network congestion issues, as observed with the BRC-20 token standard. Lightning Labs claims that protocol users can soon incorporate BRC-20 assets into the Lightning Network, allowing for seamless integration with wallets, exchanges, and merchants.
BRC-20 developer “Domo” previously stated that the Taproot Assets Protocol is a more effective solution than existing methods, such as JSON, as it offers users fast and cheap transactions through the Lightning network.
