Restaking Protocol EigenLayer Launches Stage 1 Testnet for Stakers

Ethereum restaking protocol EigenLayer announced the launch of the testnet for the first stage of the protocol, which is open to stakers.

The launch of EigenLayer will be phased in three stages to onboard different participants into the ecosystem:

  • Stage 1: Stakers - where stakers will be onboarded into restaking on EigenLayer
  • Stage 2: Operators - where node operators will be onboard and can receive delegation from restakers
  • Stage 3: Services - where the first actively validated services on EigenLayer will be onboarded

The stage 1 testnet is non-incentivized and built on the Ethereum Goerli testnet. It supports two restaking modalities, liquid restaking and native restaking. For liquid restaking, the Stage 1 testnet currently supports $stETH and $rETH.
