Central African Republic Officially Launches National Cryptocurrency Sango Coin

The Central African Republic officially launched Sango Coin as the country's national cryptocurrency during the Sango Genesis Event. The President of the Central African Republic, Faustin Archange Touadéra, cited plans to utilize bitcoin and cryptocurrencies at the event and said that Sango Coin will be the next generation of currency in the Central African Republic, a gateway to the country's natural resources. CAR’s government previously announced plans to tokenize the country’s natural resources, including petroleum, diamonds and copper.
