The community governing MakerDAO has given the green light to acquire an additional $1.28 billion worth of U.S. government bonds.
Following a unanimous vote concluded on Thursday, community members expressed support for the establishment of a new real-world asset (RWA) vault called BlockTower Andromeda. The primary objective of this vault is to invest a maximum of $1.28 billion in short-dated U.S. Treasury bonds.
It is worth noting that MakerDAO has already made notable investments in government and corporate bonds, with a total value of $1.1 billion, through a vault managed by asset manager Monetalis Clysdale.
