Bitcoin Soft Fork Upgrade Taproot to be Activated in November

TokenInsight news, according to Taproot.watch, 100% of current Bitcoin minting power will support the Taproot upgrade, which is expected to be activated in November. The upgrade is a soft fork upgrade and will not create a new blockchain network. Taproot will reportedly bring lower transaction fees, privacy features and the potential to create smart contracts to the Bitcoin network. This is the most recent major upgrade to Bitcoin, the last major upgrade to the Bitcoin network was Segregated Witness (SegWit), which culminated in a hard fork upgrade by the community that generated the BCH network.
