Slippage Tolerance: Cap Your Slippage Before Every Market Order

October 9, 2026 at 03:59 PM

Take control of your market order execution by setting a slippage limit so you always know the worst price you'll get before you confirm.

Why it matters

Market orders are fast. But in volatile conditions, the price you expect isn't always the price you get.

👉 You place a market order during a fast-moving market and fill at a price far from what you saw

👉 No way to cap how much slippage you're willing to accept before the order goes through

👉 Large orders eat through order book depth, and the rest fills wherever the market is

We believe fast execution shouldn't mean giving up price control.

With this update, BloFin lets you set a slippage tolerance before placing a market order, so you define the boundary, and the system does the rest.

What this means

When placing a Market Order, you can now set your slippage tolerance in two ways:

By Price Set a fixed price amount as your acceptable slippage range.

  • Buy price = Ask + your amount
  • Sell price = Bid − your amount

By Percentage Set a percentage-based slippage cap.

  • Buy price = Ask × (1 + your %)
  • Sell price = Bid × (1 − your %)

Once confirmed, the system places a Limit Order with IOC (Immediate or Cancel). If the full order can't be filled within your tolerance, the remainder is automatically cancelled. No unexpected fills, no surprises.
